Are you interested in taking your CTE experience to the next level? A Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), might be just what you are looking for!

Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) are vocational organizations primarily based in high schools and career technology programs. They are organizations that are integrated into Career and Technical Education to help engage students in leadership skill building activities.

For more information about how to join a CTSO that’s right for you, contact our Curriculum and Instruction Department at 623.738.0043.

Arizona tax law (ARS 43-1089.01) allows taxpayers a tax credit if they contribute to extracurricular activities in public schools. The tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar deduction of the actual owed tax, and if you have no tax, you may carry the unused credit forward up to the next five consecutive taxable years’ income tax liability.

Your tax donation supports extracurricular activities. That means any optional, non-credit educational or recreational activity that supplements the education program of the school. Your  donation directly supports West-MEC student participation in leadership organizations such as SkillsUSA and HOSA.

West-MEC Central Program Orientation is where you will get an in-depth look at your central program. You will meet your instructors and administrators, tour your new campus, get your uniform, and hear all about what you will be learning over the course of your program.

Many West-MEC central programs are competitive and have waiting lists. Registered students who do not attend orientation and the 1st day of school, and a parent/guardian does not call to excuse the absence(s), may forfeit their seat in the program. West-MEC will then call students on the waiting list to give them the opportunity to enroll. Thank you for your cooperation.
